VALVE TECHNICIAN

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, testing, inspection, and overhaul of industrial valves, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while meeting quality and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, repair, and overhaul industrial valves.

• Disassemble, inspect, assess, and reassemble valves according to manufacturer specifications.

• Conduct fault finding and diagnose valve-related issues.

• Perform pressure testing and leak testing of valves.

• Service and overhaul:

• Globe Valves

• Gate Valves

• Safety Valves

• Conduct inspections and prepare service reports.

• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and customer requirements.

• Use precision measuring equipment and testing instruments.

• Work in workshop and site environments as required.

• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts utilized.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• Proven experience as a Valve Technician or Valve Fitter.

• Practical experience servicing and overhauling industrial valves.

• Experience working with Globe, Gate, and Safety Valves.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Good understanding of valve maintenance procedures and testing methods.

• Valid driver's license will be advantageous.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Exposure to power generation, petrochemical, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, or industrial maintenance environments.

• Experience with shutdowns, maintenance projects, or workshop-based valve repairs.

• Experience using precision measuring equipment and testing equipment.
